Pheasant Branch Trail Head

Important Field Information:
All baseball/softball, soccer, and open fields are closed for play until further notice. Due to deep frost and poor spring weather, field conditions are not safe for play. Early play on fields will ruin their development for late spring and summer play.

Our Department seeks to provide a parks and recreation system that meets the needs of current residents and future generations. We strive to preserve and protect the City’s open space, water, cultural, and natural resources. Our parks and recreation programs are designed to enhance the quality of life for City of Middleton residents. The purpose of the Recreation Division is to serve as a catalyst in the development, initiation, coordination, and the support for a variety of leisure time activities and facilities for residents of all ages. The Forestry Division maintains the health of all publicly owned trees along city streets and parklands, and educates the public regarding tree pests, diseases, and new urban forestry programs.

Cross Country Ski Trails
We offer ski trails at Pleasant View Golf Course (4279 Pleasant View Road) and Lakeview Park (6300 Mendota Avenue). Trails are groomed for both skating and diagonal striding. Grooming for skating can be done with a minimal of 2 inches of snow, depending on the base established. Trails will be groomed Mondays and Fridays, weather permitting. Skiing will be allowed from 8:00am-8:00pm.

The Lakeview Park Trail is a beginner trail and is one-third of a mile. The Pleasant View Golf Course has four loop trails, with varying degrees of difficulty, and lengths up to two and one half miles. There is no fee to use the trails. Trails are no longer available at Orchid Heights.
The Clubhouse is open at Pleasant View as a warming house on Sundays from 10:00am-4:00pm.

The status of the trails is updated weekly on our website calendar. For detailed trail use information, visit our brochure.
