City of Middleton Plan Commission

Responsibilities

The Plan Commission advises the City Council on all planning and zoning related issues.  It oversees the physical development of the city, ensuring orderly development and expansion consistent with the comprehensive plan.  In addition to being responsible for preparing and updating the City's Comprehensive Plan, the Plan Commission reviews all applications for subdivisions (plats, CSMs), conditional use permits, rezoning requests and site plans.

Membership & Staff
The Plan Commission is made up of seven members: the Mayor, the Chair of the Parks, Recreation and Forestry Commission, an Alderperson designated by the City Council, and 4 citizen members appointed by the Mayor.  The current composition of the Plan Commission is:

 Meetings

The Plan Commission generally meets on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month at 7 p.m. in City Hall.  To appear on a Commission agenda, application materials must be submitted to the City at least two weeks prior to a Commission meeting.  
Agendas & Minutes
 • Meeting minutes reflect the notes of city staff and should be considered to be in DRAFT form until they are formally approved at a subsequent meeting. 
 

 • It is possible that members of and possibly a quorum of members of other governmental bodies of the municipality may be in attendance at any of the meetings to gather information; however, no action will be taken by any governmental body at said meeting other than the governmental body specifically referred to in the meeting notice.
  • Upon reasonable notice efforts will be made to accommodate the needs of disabled individuals wishing to attend meetings through appropriate aids and services. For additional information or to
