City of Middleton Public Lands Memorial Bench and Tree ProgramWhy Donate a Tree or Bench? The city of Middleton is blessed with over 1000 acres of park and conservancy for the public to enjoy. Each year we are challenged to keep these areas in good repair and safe for our visitors. You can help make a difference by donating funds to provide a park amenity which would be of lasting benefit for future generations! Donate a tree, bench or picnic table. You may even dedicate a memorial plaque with your donation to be placed nearby if desired. How to Order a Memorial Bench or Picnic Table - The Public Lands Department recommends a variety of metal / wood type benches and picnic tables which are durable and economical. - Donors order and purchase benches and / or table for delivery to the Public Lands shop. - Public Lands staff will assemble the item and install at agreed upon location. - Public Lands staff will install donation plaque when provided by donor. How to Order a Memorial Tree - Donors may select from these species: Oak, Ash, Elm, Maples - Donors make arrangements to purchase tree and ensure proper planting through local vendors. - Tree planting periods include 4/15 - 6/16 and 9/15 - 10/15 - Donors make arrangements for tree plaques to be delivered to Public Lands Department, and our staff will install at the proper location. - Public Lands staff will recommend planting locations or donors may suggest a desired planting location within a par or conservancy area. - Should the tree not survive, it will be replaced, one time at no further expense, by the Public Lands Department. - Planting a memorial tree today provides a connection with the past and a gift for the future.
