City of Middleton Recreation Facilities

The Middleton Public Lands Department oversees all park and conservancy land within the City of Middleton.  The Department is responsible for all planning, maintenance and yearly improvements on the land within its jurisdiction.

 

Park Shelter Facility Rental

There are four community parks in Middleton which have picnic shelters available to rent.  Shelters at Lakeview and Firemen's Park have electrical outlets, and access to water. 

The shelters can be reserved through the Recreation Department at 827-1060.

Lakeview Park (6300 Mendota Ave) :
Facilities at Lakeview Park include two covered outdoor shelters, with picnic tables.  The East Shelter can accommodate 200 people while the West Shelter can accommodate 100 people. These outdoor shelters can be reserved from May 15 through October 15. 

Also available at Lakeview Park on a year-round basis, is a completely enclosed meeting room.  The meeting room contains table and chairs and can accommodate 50 people.

The Lakeview Park Shelter complex also contains a full kitchen, with a stove, refrigerator, sink and cupboard space.  The kitchen is adjacent to the East Shelter and meeting room.  City residents can rent areas at the Lakeview Park Shelter.  Non-residents will pay double the normal fee.  Reservations can be made by phone and will be accepted for one or more shelter areas.

Fireman's Park (7400 Lee St):
Facilities at Fireman's Park include three covered outdoor shelters, with picnic tables. The North Shelter can accommodate 200 people, with the South Shelter can accommodate 100 people.  Also available is a small shelter which can accommodate 50 people.  The Shelters can be reserved from June 9 through August 19.

or no earlier thane one year in advance.**

No person shall permit any pet to be at large or on leash in any park

Fishing and boating are allowed in any park during regular park hours

Alcoholic beverages are not allowed in any park, with the exception of Firemen's and Lakeview Parks

 

Middleton High School Indoor Pool

The Indoor pool is operated by the Middleton Cross Plains School District, on a year round basis.  For more information call (608) 828-1695.

Walter R. Bauman Outdoor Aquatic Center

The Outdoor pool is operated by the City of Middleton Recreation Department on a seasonal basis.

Pleasant View Municipal Golf Course

With views overlooking Madison, Middleton, and Lake Mendota, Middleton's scenic golf club features an 18 hole championship course, a par 3 course, a driving range, Ted Donker's Pro Shop, and the Goat Hill Bar and Grill.  Private, junior, and group lessons are available, and PGA golf professionals are on staff.  For more information call (608) 831-6666.

Boat Launch

Middleton's boat launch provides two piers for the loading and launching of small watercraft.  The boat launch is free and parking is available both on-street and in the parking lot.
