Hangar development procedures

Land Lease, Building Covenants, Minimum Standards, etc.:  See Airport-Related Documents for links to these and other documents.  Please consult these documents if you plan to execute a land lease.  Also, note that the first year's land rent must be provided to the city in order to execute the lease.  The deadline for turning in leases and the first year's payment is February 1, 2005.

Plan Commission application for design review of hangar buildings (for people who have completed plans and executed a land lease).

Land supply:  All hangar sites have been assigned.  There is the potential that additional sites will be available if land leases aren't executed for each hangar site.  Contact city staff for more information and to get on a waiting list in the event that not every hangar lot applicant proceeds with construction.  At some point in the future, there may also be additional development east of the new terminal building.

Interested in basing your plane at the airport?  All hangars are being built on land leased by the city.  Although all lots have been assigned, the City continues to accept applications for developing hangars at the airport, or for renting hangar space.  Getting on the waiting list not only means you may be considered for a hangar lot that becomes available, but it also helps the City assess the need for a future hangar expansion area.  Information regarding land rental rates and other fees/charges can be found under Airport-Related Documents.  Contact city staff for additional information.
